This was a major team effort. Thank you and congratulations to Anne-Marie, Baljyot, Stefan, James, Graydon, David, Albright, Nic and Rodrigo!
Working from home during the pandemic
Weber lab is doing our part to Flatten the Curve and protect our community from COVID-19. We’ve donated RT-PCR reagents for testing and personal protective equipment for medical staff. Still holding remote lab meetings over Zoom!
Weber Lab welcomes a new postdoc, Pinaki Swain!
Excited to have another physicist join the team! Check out his doctoral work on the E. coli nucleoid here:
Megan, Baljyot and Peng present at the Molecular Retreat!
From single molecules to aging worms, the Weber lab put on a strong show at this year’s Molecular group retreat. Great work, everyone!
Peng's review makes the cover of Non-coding RNA!
Our new microscope finally arrives!
It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Weber lab celebrates 2019 at Juliette et Chocolat! Great to see lab alums Matias, George and Albright!
Lights, camera, action!
Weber Lab joins Vimeo. Check out our latest videos: https://vimeo.com/weberlab
Steph returns home for seminar at UofR
Fun times hanging out with collaborators Anne Meyer and Elio Abbondanzieri.
Our review examining the evidence for and against LLPS in the nucleus is out!
Congratulations to Peng on a critical review of the literature! Check it out here.
The lab kicks off a new semester with, what else? Ice cream!
Welcome to new postdoc, Stefan Biedzinski; new PhD student, Brendon McGuinness; and new undergraduates, Alyssa Trantino and Laura Wu! We’ve now got a full house!
Fantastic work by summer student James Wall
Not only did he characterize the phase behavior of a bacterial protein, but he maintained an immaculate lab bench!
Our intrepid postdoc moves on to ABIF
Anne-Marie was the first person to join the Weber lab. She literally built the lab from the ground up (twice!), spearheaded the bacterial project and served as a strong role model for all of us (students and professor alike). Thank you and good luck in your new position!
Megan attends her first international conference
The worm community is truly international! Thanks to Dan Starr and many others for their feedback on Megan’s project.
Three summers, two students and we FINALLY have liquid protein droplets!
Congratulations to James, and David, for their persistence and hard work! Let the in vitro assays begin! :)
Congratulations, Graydon!
One of the lab’s first undergrads is graduating and heading off to med school! Sending her off in style, with a picnic on the mountain.
Steph back from the DIPP retreat in Prague
Thanks to Ksenia and the organizing committee for the opportunity to present my career trajectory and to all the students for fun and stimulating conversations!
Baljyot and Peng present their "blue sky" visions at the MCMB Innovation Incubator
With the help of Steve the Shark, Baljyot wins best talk! Congrats, Baljyot and Steve!
Bianca Granato joins the lab for her summer rotation
Welcome to the lab, Bianca!
Steph back from meeting at Cold Spring Harbor
Fun times at Cellular Dynamics and Models! Nice mix of experimental cell biology and computational tools and models. Great to catch up with old friends (shout out to Julie and Theriot lab alums Susanne Rafelski and Natalie Dye!) and meet new ones. Also my first time at CSHL, where I could geek out to The Waltz of the Polypeptides and other beautifully nerdy science sculptures:)
